Workshop on Phase-out of HCFC-141b (Hydrochlorofluorocarbons) |
HCFCs which have Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) up to 15% of that CFC-11 and CFC-12 arealso classified as controlled substance under the Montreal Protocol.
Since the Ministry of Environment is the National Focal Point in implementing the MontrealProtocol policies and obligations and National Ozone Unit coordinate the International andNational level activities regarding the implementation of the Montreal protocol in Sri Lanka. It has been planned to conduct a workshop on 16th February 2012 in Colombo to disseminaterelevant information to the HCFC-141b stakeholders. UNEP provides the technical and financialassistance for this workshop. This workshop will be an ideal opportunity for participants toknow about the environment and technical benefits of alternative substances to HCFC-141b. |
